Mikhail Shibanov

Mikhail Shibanov, also known as Misha, is a coach at Carolina Premier Hockey who specializes in developing goaltenders. Misha has over 16 years of experience as a professional goalie in Russia and Belarus, which he uses to help goaltenders of all levels improve their skills.

Misha started his hockey career in Russia’s youth leagues and became a professional goalie, earning numerous awards and developing a deep understanding of the game. He transitioned into coaching, using his innovative training methods to develop strong, resilient goaltenders at both youth and professional levels in Russia.

Misha is now the goaltending coach for the Israel National Ice Hockey Team, selected for his exceptional abilities in physical and psychological training. Misha’s unique coaching philosophy focuses on strength conditioning, mental toughness, and tactical game understanding. He adapts his approach to meet the individual needs of each goalie he trains.

Misha has certification as a Strength and Condition Coach, a Certified Trigger Point Coach, and a TRX Coach. These qualifications support his comprehensive training programs, which have benefited numerous athletes, including NHL players like Ivan Prosvetov and several rising stars.

At CPH, Misha is deeply involved in daily training for goaltenders, offering his expertise both in team settings and private lessons throughout the Charlotte area. His commitment to developing elite goaltending talents is evident in the successful results of his trainees.
