Ryan’s illustrious hockey journey began at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he played for the Army hockey team for two years. He completed his NCAA Division I hockey career with Robert Morris University, demonstrating remarkable skill and leadership. Post-college, Ryan embarked on a professional hockey career, playing over 600 games across eight seasons in the ECHL and AHL.

Transitioning into coaching, Ryan started with the Reading Royals in the ECHL, later joining the Charlotte Rush in the USPHL. His coaching prowess was evident when he led the team to a National Championship in 2017. Ryan’s success continued as he assumed the role of Head Coach for the Chicago Steel in the USHL and then progressed to become the General Manager and Head Coach of the Corpus Christi IceRays in the NAHL. His coaching journey took him back to his alma mater as an Assistant Coach at Robert Morris University.

Driven by a desire to be closer to family and to shape young talent, Ryan returned to the Charlotte area. Here, he took on multiple key roles: President of Carolina Premier Hockey, Owner and GM of the Charlotte Rush, and Owner and GM of the Columbia Infantry, both in the USPHL. His dedication to hockey in the Carolinas has now led him to a professional capacity as the Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations for the Fayetteville Marksmen in the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Ryan’s commitment to developing young athletes is unwavering. He is regularly seen leading both on-ice and off-ice sessions for all CPH teams, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience to nurture the next generation of hockey talent.
