He completed his NCAA Division I hockey career with Robert Morris University, demonstrating remarkable skill and leadership. Post-college, Ryan embarked on a professional hockey career, playing over 600 games across eight seasons in the ECHL and AHL.

Transitioning into coaching, Ryan started with the Reading Royals in the ECHL, later joining the Charlotte Rush in the USPHL. His coaching prowess was evident when he led the team to a National Championship in 2017. Ryan’s success continued as he assumed the role of Head Coach for the Chicago Steel in the USHL and then progressed to become the General Manager and Head Coach of the Corpus Christi IceRays in the NAHL.
