Troy Schwab brings a wealth of experience to Carolina Premier Hockey as a seasoned professional with a rich background in both playing and coaching hockey. After growing up and playing hockey in Canada, Troy’s journey continued at Lake Superior State University, where he excelled in Division I college hockey for four years. Troy’s passion for the game propelled him into a successful six-year professional career, during which he played over 370 games.
Transitioning into coaching, Troy made significant contributions to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the ECHL, where he served for three years. This role was enriched by the team’s affiliation with the New York Rangers and the Hartford Wolf Pack, allowing Troy the honor of attending the NHL Draft and coaching at multiple AHL Training Camps with the Wolf Pack.
Troy’s coaching expertise was further showcased with the 10U Carolina Rage, where he not only led the team for a season but also played a crucial role in on-ice development across the program. His tenure as the Head Coach of the Charlotte Rush Premier and Elite teams was marked by numerous championships, highlighting his ability to foster winning teams.
Since moving to Charlotte five years ago, Troy has been instrumental in developing hockey talent at all levels. His commitment extends beyond team coaching; he is actively involved in providing private lessons to a diverse group of players. As a multifaceted coach, Troy excels in various roles including head coach, development coach, skills coach, and video coach, contributing significantly to the growth and success of our athletes both on and off the ice. His dedication is evident as he participates in ice sessions for every team within our organization, underscoring his commitment to nurturing the next generation of hockey talent.
