Matt grew up in Michigan playing competitive youth hockey for several different travel programs and continued by playing ACHA Division 1 hockey at Western Michigan University. Matt began coaching hockey when his oldest son started getting into the game. He started coaching in the Pineville Falcons learn to play and 8U development programs. After a couple seasons as an assistant coach, Matt transitioned to leading the 8U development program where he continues to provide leadership and on-ice development for the program. Matt began coaching with CPH as an assistant coach of the inaugural LIL CPH 8U team, where he also regularly helps with CPH camps and clinics. Matt is excited to continue coaching at the 8U and 10U level for CPH.
Outside of coaching, Matt is a civil engineer working in the Charlotte area. He and his wife Codi have three sons, Grayson (9), Graham (7), and Garren (4). Grayson and Graham are both a part of the CPH and Falcons programs.
