Carolina Premier Hockey is proud to announce that Anthony Yurkins has been named Assistant Hockey Director, joining the organization’s leadership team while continuing in his roles as Head Coach and Development Coach.
Originally from Staten Island, New York, Anthony brings a wealth of experience, energy, and commitment to CPH—both on the ice and now increasingly behind the scenes. Over the summer and into the upcoming season, he will begin contributing to the business operations of the organization, helping drive the continued growth and long-term success of CPH.
Anthony began his hockey career with the Greater New York Stars, where he spent most of his youth before playing AAA hockey with the New Jersey Rockets and Jersey Hitmen. He then played junior hockey for Coach Ryan Cruthers with the Charlotte Rush (USPHL) and Corpus Christi IceRays (NAHL) before moving on to NCAA Division III hockey at Aurora University, where he earned his degree in Communication.
Following college, Anthony signed his first professional contract with the Fayetteville Marksmen (SPHL) and spent time with the Reading Royals (ECHL) during his first year pro.
Anthony made an immediate impact at CPH last season, serving as a head coach for our AAA players and helping drive individual skill development across the program. He is an exceptional power skating coach and a dedicated mentor with a passion for building confident, well-rounded players both on and off the ice.
“I am thankful and honored to be surrounded by the staff, players, and families of CPH. Being part of an organization that puts culture and development at the top of our priorities is the type of environment I am proud to be a part of.
I was fortunate enough to have some very impactful coaches growing up, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. Those coaches not only made me a better hockey player but a better person, and it’s my turn to return the favor to our players at CPH.
I’d like to thank Ryan and Julie Cruthers and Troy and Megan Schwab for giving me this opportunity to grow as a coach and leader. I am truly excited to continue helping build CPH into a well-known and respected organization across North America.”
